When All Else Fails…God Does Not – The FAITHFULNESS OF GOD (P7)

YOUR TESTIMONY GOES HERE

To date in this series, I defined the word faithfulness (EMUNAH) in its biblical context. In each message, we examined many examples of God’s faithfulness to mankind:

  • Adam/Eve; the promise of a Savior—protoevangelium (first gospel Genesis 3:15)
  • Noah through the ark. (Genesis 6:14)
  • Abraham through the promised son, Isaac
  • Joseph from slave to prisoner to ruler over Egypt
  • Moses the first 40 years; Hebrew baby under the death penalty to prince of Egypt

Moses the second 40 years – hiding out in the land of Midian tending sheep

  • Moses the final 40 years – called by God after 40 years in the desert to deliver His people to the Promised Land.

Today we close this series by examining God’s faithfulness to you and me. I am going to give three points and use parts of my own testimony only to show you what you must to do replace my story with yours. YOU MUST take time to recall and write down examples of God’s great faithfulness to you throughout your life.

God’s Faithfulness to Send Jesus the Promised Messiah.

“And I will put enmity (open hostility) Between you and the woman, And between your seed (offspring) and her Seed; He shall [fatally] bruise your head, And you shall [only] bruise His heel.” Genesis 3:15 Amplified Bible (the protoevangelium)

(The angel to Joseph) “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1: 21

“For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge (it) but that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17

God’s Faithfulness to Save My Miserable Soul.

Why He came? From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”  2 Corinthians 7:10

“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.  Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 1:18-21

God’s Faithfulness to See me safely Home.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”  2 Timothy 4:17-18

Invitation: A person has to be a fool to deny God and His faithfulness, even to those who despise and abuse His holy name. Yet the world is full of such fools heading straight to their chosen destination – hell – about which Jesus spoke and warned so many times.

I plead with you not to close this message without confronting yourself in light of these truths I presented. I may be the last evangelist or Bible teacher the Lord puts before you to beg you to respond to Jesus in the only way that will secure your salvation.

Nowhere is the faithfulness of God more on display than the merciless crucifixion of Jesus Christ, His only Son. His suffering and death were for our sins. We all need Jesus. The difference between you and me is that I, by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, surrendered my life to Jesus and never looked back!

He said we are sinners in need of repentance (Matthew 4:17; 9:13) That means confess your sins and change your mind (repent) about Who He is and who you are apart from His saving grace. He taught that this decision is a matter of life and death. Those who believe/receive Him gain eternal life. Those who reject Him will spend eternity suffering in Hell, wishing they had not refused His love, mercy and grace. Will you humble yourself and receive Him today? I am praying you do!

For Christ’s sake,
